Lumen Christi Catholic School Students Host October Service Learning Projects
Each and every grade level at Lumen Christi Catholic School, from Pre-Kindergarten (K3) through 8th grade, hosts and participates in a number of different service projects throughout the year. The projects are varied and allow the students to live their Catholic faith by giving to others through service. The second and fifth graders at Lumen Christi Catholic School are hosting and participating in two such service projects in October.
The second graders of Lumen Christi Catholic School are collecting winter coats for their first service project of the year. They are collecting coats for Condella’s Coats for Kids. They urge everyone in the community to drop off slightly used children’s coats. Adult coats will also be accepted. The coats will be cleaned and distributed throughout Milwaukee. Collection boxes are located near the front of each of the school offices in both Thiensville and Mequon. October 17th is the final day of the collection.
The fifth graders are visiting New Perspectives Senior Living on Friday, October 3rd to participate in fall activities with the residents. The students will be hosting fall bingo for the residents, as well as participating in a poetry reading.
Lumen Christi Catholic School, as an integral part of our parish, educates our children as unique individuals through a strong academic program, infusing the Gospel values which compel us to love and serve in the Catholic tradition.
