Dave Richmond has combined his work with his love of beer for more than eight years with the Madrigrano families, and is now Global Brands Manager at Beer Capitol Distributing-Lake Country in Sussex. In his position, Dave is responsible for coordinating the marketing and merchandising programs for all the Global brands. The beer products featured in his blog are primarily those distributed but not limited to by Beer Capitol Distributing Lake Country.
An interesting article came across my desk today. The article discusses the growth of the craft beer as the new cocktail since consumers are choosing craft beers over wine and spirits during this recession. Numbers released yesterday by the Brewers Association show that craft beer grew by 5% in the first 6 months of 2009. That is borderline amazing considering the beer industry is flat for 2009.
I believe this trend holds thru for the state of Wisconsin as well. Local craft brewers in the state are showing good numbers for the year so far and are continuing to roll out new products for their consumers. Lakefront, Leinenkugel's, Capital, Point, New Glarus,Tyranena and Ale Asylum have all introduced new products this year and are enjoying the fruits of their labors.
The question for this entry is "Are you trading off to craft beers from your normal drink order either at the bar or at the store?"
As always please let me know your thoughts and opinions
Cheers!
