SETTING THE POLITICAL HYPOCRISY RECORD STRAIGHT
The November 4 News Graphic op-ed by Tim Schilke describing last May's aborted effort by public employee unions to recall State Senator Glenn Grothman as "an example of democracy" twists the facts and gets Wisconsin political history wrong. The piece purports to lift up conservative columnist Owen Robinson's denouncement of perpetual recall elections in Wisconsin as an example of Republican "political hypocrisy." But it quickly devolves into an angry rant about everything from conservative talk radio to U.S. Supreme Court decisions.
Thanksgiving
Hope everyone is finishing up their final plans for Thanksgiving and the menus. Wanted to drop a note about some great beers for the holiday. One of my favorites with Turkey is Newcastle Brown Ale. Great beer to pair with the turkey and the stuffing. Some great seasonals are still availible to pair with your meal. Pumpkin beers from Lakefront and Southern Tier are the best ones I have had this fall.
Chocolate stouts are also a favorite of mine this time of year-a ton of great choices at your local watering hole or retail location. Drop me a note of your favorites and I will repost shortly.
