Why are you running for office?

My family enjoys living in Thiensville and I want to give back to our community. One of my top goals is guaranteeing that Thiensville's unique history, tradition and identity remain strong. At the same time, I want to ensure that our village is prepared for the challenges of the future.

Given the need to rehabilitate all or portions of Main Street, how would you address the issue of water mains for the area?

It is clear, that at the moment, having a municipal water supply along Main Street is not a top priority for most of the current business owners. It doesn't make sense for to invest in more expensive options for the current Main Street repaving project. I would favor one of the less expensive options with a shorter life span. At some point in the future, businesses are not going to be satisfied with well water.

How should the village encourage development/redevelopment in its business district?

The village should be proactive in encouraging development. We must figure out ways to make the village more attractive to potential business owners. We should research best practices of comparable communities that have been successful in finding new businesses. I would also investigate possible federal grants or subsidized loans that might help with initial costs. The goal is to do as much as possible to encourage development without any significant increase in property taxes.

Why are you running for office?

To continue representing the people with experience, insight, and effective partnerships with citizens and businesses. I will continue to support an independent Thiensville, protect our quality of life, and strengthen our business community. It is a privilege to do so, and I look forwarding to continuing our work together.

Given the need to rehabilitate all or portions of Main Street, how would you address the issue of water mains for the area?

Through providing fiscally responsible options to the current and future business community by balancing their expressed need(s). This year's planned resurfacing of Main Street provides the opportunity to create the supporting infrastructure should the municipal water option be supported as a practical or viable option for Main Street development.

How should the village encourage development/redevelopment in its business district?

Create effective partnerships with key stakeholders, provide financial incentives, reduce bureaucracy, and develop a strong, desirable "brand" for the village. With over 15 years experience in small business development, I believe a vibrant business community plays a significant role in the quality of life and desirability of a community.
