MEQUON

BURGLARY

A 42-inch flat screen TV, value not available, was taken from a home in the 9800 block of North Wauwatosa Road on Jan. 22 or 23. A basement window was broken to gain entry.

A floor safe, camera and laptop, value not available, were taken from the 9800 block of North Arrowwood Road on Jan. 24 or 25. A back door was forced open to gain entry and the home was ransacked.

THEFT

A snowblower valued at $600 was taken from an unsecured breezeway in the 1300 block of West Zedler Lane before 12:30 p.m. Jan. 18.

More than 100 bags of rock salt in 25 and 50 pound bags weighing nearly 5,000 pounds and valued at about $600 were taken from outside Mequon Ace Hardware, 11001 N. Port Washington Road, between 4:53 and 5:21 a.m. Jan. 20. The theft was caught on surveillance video.

OTHER

A 20-year-old Fox Point man was mailed a citation for underage drinking after he was found "highly intoxicated" on the ground outside North Shore Cinema, 11700 N. Port Washington Road, at 1:16 a.m. Jan. 19. He was taken to a hospital.

Two 17-year-old Mequon girls were cited for underage drinking after the car they were in was stopped for speeding and rolling through a red light in the 2400 block of West Mequon Road at 9 p.m. Jan. 19. When the driver saw the squad car, she yelled that one of her passengers had vomited and was now passed out and very sick and she was heading to the hospital. Rescue was called and the girl was taken to a hospital. Her blood alcohol content was 0.21 and the other girl's was 0.15.

A 32-year-old Mequon man was badly burned after his vehicle caught fire in his driveway in the 12100 block of West Mequon Road at 11 a.m. Jan. 24. When police arrived, the man was on the ground outside the van. He either got out himself or was helped by others who were on the scene after seeing the fire. Police pulled the man away from the GMC Safari which was totally engulfed in flames. The man, who was flown to a burn center, had third degree burns over almost half of his body.
