Thiensville to ask Mequon to extend water main
Thiensville — Village Manager Dianne Robertson will talk with the Mequon Water Utility about the possibility of extending a water main in to serve the Fiddleheads development at 120 N. Main St.
Robertson said other businesses in that area would be contacted to see if they would be interested in the city water.
There are several water mains in Thiensville that could possibly be extended. One 12-inch main on the south side of Willowbrook Place, 205 Green Bay Road, was intended as the primary route to serve downtown Thiensville. There are 11 potential customers along the route the Willowbrook main would likely follow. There is also an 8-inch main at Elm Street and Green Bay Road, another 8-inch main at City Hall in Mequon and the possibility of a main near the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, 11831 North Seminary Drive, Mequon.
The developer is on a tight schedule, hoping to open the roasting facility and coffee shop by mid June. Robertson said the first thing to determine is whether the Water Utility could meet that schedule.
