A Park Falls, Wis., man wants to bequeath personal property and other belongings to the village of Fox Point - a proposal elected officials were at least receptive to while discussing the issue Tuesday.
A decade ago, Kenneth Leindecker expressed a desire to be buried at Old Dutch Cemetery, a property near Doctor's Park along the lakefront, because other family members are buried at the site. Leindecker's wishes were approved by passage of a resolution.
By default, the historic cemetery is under the village's purview, and staff members maintain the site.
Through his attorney, Leindecker more recently expressed a desire to will the assets of a life insurance policy, historic documents and his 30-acre Park Falls property to Fox Point upon his death. The full value of all of Leindecker's assets are not known.
The board took no action during Tuesday's discussion, but staff members were directed to look into the issue further.
