Nicolet swimmers earn postseason honors

Ten Nicolet boys and girls swimmers were recently honored as Academic All-Americans.

They are seniors Nick Lee, Abby Lutsky, Nicole Hangsterfer, Ben Wynn, Leah Fischer, Sophie Rodrigues-Pereira, Konrad Holtz, Loredona Farhad, Sean Mannion and Catie Crossman. All posted an unweighted GPA of 3.75 or above, which is required for the award.

Only 450 students nationwide earn the honor. The swim programs will also receive the team scholar award from the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association.

The boys' team posted a combined GPA of 3.991 while the girls had a 3.958.

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association awarded all-state status to Nicolet divers Noah Gilday and Calli Head.

Whitefish Bay announces Duke Pride winners

Duke Pride winners include the following: Anthony Aiello for hockey, Annie Becker for girls skiing, Reid Ziolkowski for boys skiing, Jason Castillo for boys swimming, Luke Davey for wrestling, Jevontae Merriwether for boys basketball, Lauren Agnew for girls basketball and Sarah Courtney for gymnastics.

The award is given each season to Bay athletes who best display sportsmanship, character, leadership and skill in their given sport.
