Truly Scrumptious, A Modern Bakery, Opening June 1

May 16, 2011

A new modern bakery is scheduled to open for business in Germantown called Truly Scrumptious LLC on June 1, 2011. With their grand opening celebration happening the third week in June. Owners Vicki Carl and Kelly Wilson have been providing gourmet cupcakes to the Germantown area and beyond for over a year. The company has come a long way in a short time with great reviews and even a TV interview on FOX 6 Wake Up.

Their customers have a lot to say and keep coming back for their home made treats, “My favorite BY FAR was chocolate cherry," but we had a big mix of flavors that were all very tasty!! Plus, ordering was easy with all of the help and suggestions I got from the gals and delivery to top it all off!! Will order as often as I can! ~ Kara K.

"Had the Peanut Butter Chocolate cupcake today at the deli and it was de-lish! I have also had Pumpkin (terrific) and Indulgent Chocolate (totally for the chocolate lover!) Great job, ladies! ~ Lynn M.

"I had the opportunity to try the Oreo cookie cupcake. First you have to know I don't like Oreo cookies and I prefer a cookie to cupcakes. BUT THIS OREO CUPCAKE was so good that I even liked the Oreo part! And the FROSTING is unbelievable!" Angela S.

These gals started small. They met on the Little League field in 2010 and discovered a mutual interest for business. They put their passions for baking and marketing together and in just one year have had the lucky fortune to open their own retail bakery. As you know this can never be done alone. They had a lot of help from neighbors, families, and friends that made logos, took photographs, built a website, offered space, and ordered from them. “We could not have done this without the support from everyone. Our husbands and children have been a source of strength for us. Every day we do not forget that they are watching us and we are their greatest example.” -Kelly and Vicki

Kurt Schulz Deli in Germantown on Mequon road lent the ladies a hand in the beginning offering their deli to sell their gourmet cupcakes out of. As they grew they discovered that having their gourmet cupcakes at other locations just made great business sense. So, they approached Judy and Dwayne of proprietors of Aldo's to have their cupcakes on the menu and Judy also discovered that this perfect sized tasty treat was the perfect answer for her catering business.

With all this growth Kelly and Vicki new that they had to find a home for their delicious tasty treats. And that is when they were approached by The Nardo's whom own Passport Inn, Germantown Travel and The Bake Shoppe. Chris and Carol Nardo were looking to create a win- win with Truly Scrumptious they have a Shoppe and the gals needed a bakery to call home.

Truly Scrumptious a modern bakery will open its doors on June 1, 2011. Their business plan combines the quality of their own products with that of Bake Shoppe and a modern twist. The bakery is located on Pilgrim road by Germantown Travel and Aldo's. It is on the north side of the building a little hard to see from the road but don't let that deter you from stopping in for fresh bakery.

Their entire bakery is made to order from scratch. "Fresh ingredients just taste better," owner Kelly Wilson replied. Their product line will be gourmet cupcakes, cake pops, whoopie pies, muffins, scones, cinnamon rolls, coffee, pies, fondant cakes, sheet cakes, butter horns and much more. Their website created by JL Webvisions is an e-commerce site that will make it very easy for the residential and business consumer to order, pay, and have it delivered a one stop shop.
