Concordia University to Host iPad Conference to Help Area Special Education Teachers
Concordia University Wisconsin’s School of Education is hosting a free conference for area special education teachers titled, “Extraordinary Apps for Exceptional Education” on Saturday, February 18 from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in Concordia’s new School of Pharmacy building. The focus of the conference will be "Using iPads for Personalized Learning."
The keynote speaker at the event will be Apple Distinguished Educator, Sue Gorman of the Racine Unified School District. Gorman is the also the District Technology Coordinator. Other topics of interest at the conference will include: apps for assistive technology; iPad 101; iBooks 2; and iBooks Author.
“Since this is a technology conference, we want to fully use technology in ways that some teachers may not have experience with,” said Wanda Routier, director of Graduate Special Education Programs at Concordia. “We are encouraging all those who attend the conference to bring their iPads,” she added.
