New Mattress Firm Store Opens in Mequon Projected Economic Impact to be more than $816,000

MEQUON, WISCONSIN – (December 20, 2012) – Mattress Firm, Inc., the market share leader in mattress sales for Wisconsin and the largest mattress retailer in America, will open its first store in Mequon this Friday, Dec. 21 at 11311 North Port Washington Road, just in time for the holiday season.

Mattress Firm is the first and only local retailer in Mequon to offer an extensive selection of innerspring and specialty mattresses from every leading national brand, including Tempur-Pedic®, Sealy®, Sealy Optimum™, Stearns & Foster®, Aireloom® and Vivon™; as well as locally-manufactured national brands Serta®, iComfort®, Simmons®, ComfortPedic® and factory-direct Symbol Mattress. The company is also the only local retailer to guarantee the lowest price on every national mattress brand and absolute refunds if customers are not fully satisfied within 100 days of their purchase.

Local and Statewide Impact

The projected economic impact for the Mequon store is estimated to be $816,204 to the local community within the next year. To date, Mattress Firm has injected more than $29 million into Wisconsin’s economy. In addition, Mattress Firm has created more than 100 positions statewide, including approximately 70 store associates, who have each received 100 hours of training.

In about two years, Mattress Firm has experienced tremendous sales growth and is Wisconsin’s number one for market share in mattress sales in 2012, as well as America’s largest mattress retailer. The local franchise has grown at nearly a one-store-per-month rate, adding a total of 38 retail locations including six superstore/clearance center locations and two distribution centers in Wisconsin.
