33 years of serving older adults in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
April 1, 2013, Alexian Village of Milwaukee marks 33 years in Milwaukee. A fledging retirement community was about to enter bankruptcy when the Alexian Brothers Health System bought the facility; debt and property. “It was not a great business decision but a tremendous ministry decision,” according to Gary Mohn, CEO and President of Alexian Village. Buying the debt ensured residents of their “life care” coverage – for many a hefty personal investment. There is one remaining resident since that 1980 purchase.
Alexian Village of Milwaukee is a part of the Alexian Brother Health System which merged with Ascension Healthcare, the largest Catholic healthcare provider in the United States.
