Feb. 21, 2014

Cypress Creek Golfers’ Club (CCGC)
600 Cypress Creek PWY
Smithfield, VA 23430
A Smithfield golf course superintendent was honored by state association for his exceptional community service at its annual meeting January 28, 2014
Philip M. Bailey, Certified Golf Course Superintendent of Cypress Creek Golfers’ Club and Mequon native, has been recognized by the Virginia State Golf Course Superintendent’s Association (VGCSA) with its Distinguished Service Award (DSA) for 2013. The award is "presented to a member who has given his time unselfishly in promoting golf course management and unification of the Virginia Golf Course Superintendents."
For the past several years Mr. Bailey has organized and run an annual fundraising golf tournament at CCGC. All of the proceeds from the events are donated to the national Wee One organization for distribution to needy members of the golf course profession struggling with medical expenses. Through Phil’s selfness he has donated tens of thousands of dollars to date for this worthy cause.
All of us at Cypress Creek are proud of Phil’s valuable contribution to our community, both on and off the course.
