Popular Radio Talk Show Host Speaks at Concordia University
WTMJ 620 AM morning talk show host Charlie Sykes will visit Concordia University Wisconsin’s Mequon campus and address students on October 22nd. One of his topics will be his new book, "Fifty Rules Kids Won’t Learn in School: Real-World Antidotes to Feel-Good Education."
The book was chosen by some Concordia LA 105 (The Freshmen Experience) instructors as a supplemental reading text for the course. The course is geared toward preparing freshmen for academic success.
“We are extremely excited to have someone of Charlie Sykes’ stature address our students,” said Sheryl Guse who teaches LA 105 and is an assistant director of Graduate Admission at Concordia. “His unique perspective and knowledge on local and world events can serve as a great way to inform and inspire,” Guse added.
While Charlie’s visit will be attended by many of the LA 105 students, the event is also open to the entire CUW community and will take place in the Todd Wehr Auditorium beginning at 12:30 p.m.
For more information on Sykes’ visit you can contact Sheryl Guse, assistant director of Graduate Admission at 414-243-4306 or e-mail her at sheryl.guse@cuw.edu.
