You are Invited to the 11th Annual Tartan Ball-Jan. 30th, 2010
"Our Time to Make a Difference" is the theme of the 11th Annual Tartan Ball taking place on January 30th at the Pfister Hotel. The Tartan Ball is the largest fundraiser of the Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation. The event begins at 6:00 PM with cocktails, a silent auction and raffle. At 8:00 PM dinner is served and the voice auction begins. The evening concludes with dancing to the tunes of "Hot Sauce". Jennifer Zoeller, Kris Worthington and Liz Graumann are chairing the event this year and have added several exciting new events.
5th Grade students from the districts 3 elementary schools will be participating in a contest of "Smarter than a 5th Grader". Ball guests will compete against the 5th grade panel and will help the students raise money to give back to the district. It is a great way for the students to participate.
There will be an Art Gallery featuring student artists and local artists. Also hand-held bidding devices will be new this year adding a fun and exciting change to the silent auction format.
"We are looking forward to a fabulous evening at the Pfister Hotel. This year's chairmen have worked very hard to bring fresh, new ideas to the Tartan Ball", said Susan Malmquist, MTEF Executive Director. "We are grateful for the community support shown by our volunteer committee members and also the community members that attend the Ball."
Invitations to the Tartan Ball have been sent to families in the school district. They can also be found at any of the Mequon-Thiensville Public School offices. Proceeds from the Tartan Ball benefit the Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation.
