Wisconsin High School Honors Project Selects Teacher from University School
University School of Milwaukee Middle School string ensemble and orchestra teacher Linda Lak has been selected to be a part of the Wisconsin High School Honors Project. As a member of this project, she will serve as string coach for the High School Honors Orchestra, attend and facilitate rehearsals at the Summer Honors Camp, lead High School Honors Orchestra sectionals, and participate in student preparation and performances at the 2010 and 2011 Wisconsin State Music Conferences.
The Wisconsin High School Honors Project is nationally recognized as one of the finest musical experiences for young musicians, offering models of leadership and excellence for music education and music performance. This program provides musically talented students with the opportunity to rehearse and perform with a nationally renowned conductor in a professional, highly disciplined setting sharing their dedication to a high level of musical performance. Selected through a rigorous audition process, students are challenged to achieve at their musical best, culminating in an October performance in Madison’s Overture Hall, a highlight of the Wisconsin State Music Conference.
