Concordia's New Center for Environmental Stewardship Nears Completion
Concordia University Wisconsin's new Center for Environmental Stewardship, overlooking the Lake Michigan shoreline, will be completed later this month; following a testing and energy commissioning period. The Center will officially open in August, with a formal dedication scheduled for September.
Excitement is brewing as those involved in the project at CUW are seeing years of effort and planning come to life. The Center will serve as a focal point for many activities dealing with the Great Lakes, sustainability, and conservation on the CUW campus and in the surrounding community.
“Our curriculum and program planning for visiting groups is proceeding nicely; we should be ready when we open later this summer,” said Center Director Bruce Bessert. “It’s a very exciting time for Concordia, and the community as a whole,” Bessert added.
For more information on the programs being offered at the Center, contact Bruce Bessert at bruce.bessert@cuw.edu or 262-243-4555. To schedule meetings, workshops, or other events at the Center, contact Lucy Becker at lucy.becker@cuw.edu or 262-243-4470.
